Dakhla Wind Farm
Installation of the 60 MW Dakhla wind farm: 12 Envision turbines, and a blade exchange that made SOMALEV an ESTA Awards 2025 finalist.
SOMALEV installed 12 Envision wind turbines of 5 MW, with a 120 m hub height and a 171 m rotor diameter, at one of the most remote wind sites in Morocco.
On the same wind farm, we exchanged damaged blades using specialised rigging techniques and a comprehensive risk assessment. The operation used our 750 t Liebherr LR 1750 crawler crane with a 145 m main boom and our 400 t LTM 1400-7.1 with an 84 m luffing jib.
This operation made SOMALEV the first Moroccan and African company to be shortlisted for the ESTA Awards, in the lattice boom cranes category, in Munich in April 2025.
