Blade replacement is performed either with an SBI (single blade installation) tool or with two cranes. SOMALEV has carried out these operations for several OEMs and in varied conditions.

Drive train replacement is a complex operation that requires dismantling the rotor, blades and hub, followed by a millimetre-precise manoeuvre to extract the drive train from the nacelle. It is one of the most common operations on turbines above 5 MW.

Main bearing replacement requires removing the blades and fully disassembling the nacelle; the shaft replacement then calls for delicate work on the ground. Operations requiring nacelle disassembly are constrained by wind speed and demand careful weather planning.
